Pierre has more than 20 years of experience in the Semiconductor Industry. He has been involved in many roles such as IC design engineer, IC verification engineer, product engineer, test engineer, analog design engineer and IC CAD engineer. His experience provides him with a very good understanding of all the phases of the development of Integrated Circuits.
Pierre understands the challenges behind low power design architectures. He has recently spent two and half years working on an implantable ultra-low power medical device.
As part of his most recent contract, Pierre has been in charge of the verification of a System-on-Chip (SoC) with an embedded ARM processor. In that role, Pierre has created the verification infrastructure and has developed various Bus-Functional-Models (BFM), test benches and has written many assertions using the PSL language. In the past, he has developed assertions (PSL) and worked with Cadence’s formal analysis tool to improve the verification of RTL code.
Pierre is fluent with Perl (and Perl/Tk) and he has been developing scripts for various purposes especially to improve the quality and/or the speed of his work as well as other people’s work.
He has proven abilities at understanding and solving complex design and verification problems as highlighted by some of his references.
He has very good communication and inter-personal skills. He truly enjoys working in a team but he can, as easily, work alone without any supervision.
He lives in the Ottawa area (Gatineau) and he usually works from his home office.
